A Colorful Folk: Pennsylvania Germans & the Art of Everyday Life is an original exhibition which explores the unique world of the Pennsylvania Germans and their colorful folk art, including fraktur, textiles, furniture, metalwork, and pottery.

Winterthur is one of the leading institutions for the study and collection of Pennsylvania German folk art, housing over a dozen rooms furnished with Pennsylvania German architecture and decorative arts.

Begun by Henry Francis du Pont, this extraordinary collection was enhanced in 2009 after Winterthur's acquisition of items from the estate of lifelong scholar and collector, Pastor Frederick Sheely Weiser.
