Colonial-Styled Instrument for the History Buff
Inspired by Thomas Jefferson's interest in recording the weather, this inventive rain gauge demonstrates the beautiful instrumentation of the colonial era. Crafted of solid brass and stainless steel it will measure up to 5" of rain in 1/5" increments. As rain accumulates in the glass vial, the float lifts, moving the pointer to indicate how much rain has fallen. This rain gauge will also turn into the wind to ensure the most accurate measurement or it may be tightened down to a fixed location.
Crafted of solid brass, stainless steel and glass..
Brass will patina beautifully over time, but will not rust.
Includes pressure treated stake for ground mounting and a hangar bolt for mounting to a post or deck.
