Updyke Rhode Island Desk and Bookcase - Floor Sample Sale

Winterthur Reproduction
Original Price:

Mixing traditional furniture with contemporary decor adds interest, contrast, and depth. This finely crafted mahogany piece is a reproduction of a desk and bookcase in the Winterthur collection. Block front, or the raised-recessed-raised triad of panels with the shell as an integral part of each, is considered to be uniquely American.

The hand carving represents 37 hours by meticulous artisans to achieve the beautiful and precise look of the original. Seventeen drawers and six compartments line the desk, and the ten separate sections int he bookcase are channeled to allow numerous subdivisions.

Winterthur's exacting standards require that reproductions may not vary more than 1/8th" of the original.
