Washington Camp Cup

In 1776, George Washington commissioned two dozen silver cups by silversmith William Hollingshead of Philadelphia, PA. Washington had his family crest engraved on each, and used them during his campaigns.

This hand crafted pewter cup is reproduced meticulously by skilled craftspeople with methods that have been handed down from century to century.

An original painting of George Washington by artist, John Trumbull hangs in the Baltimore Drawing Room at Winterthur. George Washington's family felt that the painting most accurately represented Washington. It was presented to Martha Washington as a token of the great love and admiration America held for her husband.
