Winterthur Organic Maple Syrup


Winterthur's Organic Maple Syrup is made on a family farm in Hudson Valley, New York that has been tapping maples for four generations. Pour its rich, buttery flavor over pancakes, saute with fresh carrots, add to back beans and more.

In 1947, fifty gallons of maple syrup was ordered from Winterthur. Someone liked smothering his pancakes in syrup!

Maple Martini

• Winterthur Organic Maple Syrup
• vodka, straight from freezer, COLD!
• sugar
• ice

Mix equal parts Winterthur Organic Maple Syrup and vodka to a glass. Remember the vodka should be right out of the freezer and very cold. Combine, shake over ice Add sugar to the rim by dipping the top of the glass in syrup and then in bowl of sugar for added treat. Enjoy.

Maple Bacon Cheese Cups

• 1 lb of bacon
• 1 cup of Winterthur Organic Maple Syrup
• 1 tsp of minced garlic
• 1 tbsp of Dijon mustard
• cooking spray
• 5 oz. of goat cheese
• 3 oz. of shredded asiago cheese

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine maple syrup, garlic and mustard in a bowl and whisk them together. Layer in bacon one piece at a time into the mixture so it is fully covered, let it sit for about ten minutes. Cover a baking sheet heavily in foil and place on an oven safe baking rack inside. Lay one piece of bacon at a time across the rack (try not to overlap) and bake for 15 minutes.

While baking, combine cheeses and microwave for one minute. Blend them together.Remove bacon from oven and spray a muffin tin with cooking spray. Layer in one piece of bacon to each cup to create the outside of the cup shape (each cup has two pieces of bacon). Layer in a second piece, starting by filling the bottom and then wrapping around the rest of the cup shape. You are trying to create a bowl.

Fill the cup with the cheese mixture. Bake for another 15 to 20 minutes watching that the bacon is cooked to your liking and the cheese mixture starts to slightly brown. Serve with eggs or over lettuce.
