Winterthur Estate Console Table-Floor Sample Sale

Winterthur Estate Collection by Lane Venture

Inspired by a wrought iron fence in the Quarry Garden, this console table features three inset boxes that could be used as planters or containers. The boxes can be flipped to provide a flat surface for serving or display.

This console table is made from high quality aluminum and finished with a black lightly-textured powder coat finish. It has been specifically designed and manufactured to withstand the elements. Imported.

Using the rich history and extensive archives of the estate, Winterthur and Lane Venture teamed up to create modern designs that are adapted for today's home. Architectural details from Winterthur doors, trellises, fences and archives were the inspirations for these dramatic designs.

One garden setting beloved by H. F. du Pont was the Quarry Garden, fashioned from an abandoned stone quarry in the early 1960's as a site for growing primroses. H. F. enjoyed the solitude of the Quarry Garden and added a little cove with a bench on which to sit and enjoy the beautiful plants.

Framing the Quarry Garden is a decorative wrought-iron fence in the style of the early 20th-century designer and metalworker Samuel Yellin. The movement and rhythm evident in the tracery of the fence reflect an interest in traditional designs. Wrought-iron fences, gates, railings, and furniture were key accesnt on a 20th-century American estate.
