The Arrangement Puzzle

Eric Wert’s Arrangement is an elegant floral riot, a hyperrealistic cascade of texture, shadow, and saturated color. It represents what the painter is best known for: visually intense, sensually charged still lifes that are anything but still.

Winterthur has over 50 different species of flowers. H. F. du Pont said that, "For me, color is the thing that counts more than any other." He spent over 65 years planning and experimenting with different plants in his gardens.

• 1,000 pieces.

• Dimensions: Puzzle is 20" x 25". Box is approximately 10" x 13" x 2".

• Choking hazard—small parts. Not suitable for children under 3 years.

Wert began his career as a scientific illustrator. Influenced by Dutch still life painters, he uses stunning jewel tones to depict decadent subject matter, taking traditional compositions in new directions. His expertly shaped fruits, vegetables, and flowers approach realism but go beyond its limitations.

Wert received a bachelor of fine arts degree from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and a master of fine arts degree from Northwestern University. He lives in Portland, Oregon.
